Welcome to search collections - a database of the objects in our care. If you are unfamiliar with the types of objects we have, then you might want to 'read an overview'
to help you with your search. The database currently holds information for around 40,000 objects and we are continually working to include new information and as many images as possible.
You can also find information on the Brighton rare book and local studies collection in this database. These resources are useful for those doing local and family history research and are available to use in the Brighton History Centre
You may prefer to read our 'collections blog'
which is full of stories about our objects and the people and places associated with them or look at images of objects on our 'flickr photostream'
. Not all the objects in the database, blog or flickr are on display. To find out the latest information about current displays and exhibitions, visit our 'What's On'
The database includes information and images relating to human remains. Please use this information appropriately. Our policy on caring for human remains can be found on our
