Description:  This dress which dates from the Regency period (1821) was made in London by Herbstrewer's and worn by Sarah Ann Walker . The dress made from creme silk gauze which has a crepe like appearence is complete with an attached plain weave silk underdress. It has a wide low neckline which is decorated with creme silk net and satin ribbon trim. The waist on the dress is high with a gathered bodice with a green and pink wild rose sash. The long sleeves are puffed at the shoulder and are trimmed with satin ribbon at the cuffs. The full skirt which gathers to the back is trimmed with a plain weave cotton with silk gauze flounces on the hem.

Donated to Brighton Museum & Art Gallery by Miss Helen Nussey in 1961
